investing your money with banks can be worth it if you get an initial special. This can happen with usually a checking account, a savings account or a Bank CD. The best way to get a good deal is to be patient. There are a number of banks that are local which are in need of new customers always.
Banks are always battleing it out to get the customers that will come back and stay loyal to them. The more cash flow they have to invest the bestter. thats why its important for you to be able to recognize the best cd rates from banks in your area, and feed off of that.
Short term is going to be the route to go. So if you see that your money could be doing more, then it might be a good idea to invest in things that will give you a return fast. Then you can continue to reinvest as you see fit, and also as you see new deals coming your way.

Driving around these days is becoming more and more humbling. We have always lived under the assumption that driving around is something that we do and take for granted that we will always be able to afford the gas to continue to drive as much as we do, but with prices like these we are being forced to really rethink our strategies, even give up a lot of our driving so it (gas money) doesn’t start to impact other areas of our life by taking money away from them.
Using a gas mileage calculator I was able to figure out just how much gas I was wasting on my everyday errands and started to plan my routes more efficiently. I even realized that buying a new car wouldn’t be the best thing for me right now because based on my calculations this would have cost me much more in the short and long run.

My pal Dave has this old crappy 1986 Camaro that he loves. He’s always working on it and I always kid him about it being a Big Haired Secretary’s Car. Yes, it looks like the kind of car you would see some girl with big 80’s hair on Miami Vice driving about. But, Dave thinks it’s the coolest car in the world.
Anyhoo, Dave drags me along to this auto graveyard to look for some cheap Camaro sport coupe parts. This auto graveyard was huge. It must have covered several square miles. The guy at the front drove us back to the wreck and said he would swing back by later. He didn’t. We must have walked for miles trying to get out of there, all the while schlepping the parts along with us. That’s the last time I go parts ’shopping’ with Dave.
